Darnit! I had downloaded that same torrent a few days ago and synced the English subtitle to the French audio waveform. I never noticed that the audio was not synced to the video. Grrrr.

I found a 1080p.hdtv at 17 GB (!!). No tv logo. But the video generally looks not as good as the one with the ARTE Logo. That one looks remastered/smooth.

Ouch. I have taken a 576i DVD over a 1080p with huge logo, but at 17GB that file ought to be gorgeousity incarnate. The arte watermark is fairly small and ought to delogo nicely ... hmmm.

Im getting proper 1080p web-dl remastered. Might take some time.

I dunno if I can wait, I think I am running out of unwatched movies.

Yeah I plan on learning the technique. Probably something simple for you guys. I hope the amount that the sync is off is consistent.

I didn't even notice that the French was off until just a few moments after finishing the write up!

If the audio is off inconsistently, that is the point that I quit. I use another version or watch another movie. Someone else can fix it!

Spoiler: When it is off by a consistent amount, it is fairly easy. Most of the "work" is in watching the lips in conjunction with the audio in multiple places for incremental audio resyncs until you figure out what is right. I use VLC because it is software I already have and does live (temporary) audio adjustments easily. I probably posted this before, but mkvmerge / MKVToolnix is good to use for the permanent audio adjustment once you figure out the correct sync.

I remember hearing in some E-News film program that a shot of Heigl viewed from the rear in a white bikini had to be digitally altered. The USA release painted more bikini so it didn't show as much bare bottom! Was only a 2 second scene I think. As filmed it was closer to a g-string bikini bottom. I'd be curious to know what versions exist? The international version, or the USA one?

The Katharine Heigl version is the 1994 English-language one. Beatpats4 posted a SD full frame international "uncut" version:

I won't compare the 2 films but for their respective debuts, Marie Gillain and Katherine Heigl are very cute in these films...
