Re: [REL] Mezhdu relsite AKA Between the Rails (1964) [Bulgaria]
Someone has been kind and reshared it on eMule.
Note: This version has a runtime of 90 minutes.
The Russian one on ok.ru only 71 minutes.

Yes thank you to the resharer(s)! Clearly I was participating in the thread but somehow I missed the TubeBG version. (I had the smaller uncut YouTube version and the drastically censored version.)

Re: [REL] Mezhdu relsite AKA Between the Rails (1964) [Bulgaria]
Around the time when I first shared this movie, I gradually collected a few different encodes in an attempt to find the best quality version possible. I have 5 different encodes.
I do not recall which originated from the tubeBG site. I don't even remember that site!
Beware the censored/cut version that was mentioned a couple times in this thread! It cuts out some of the lovely and affecting scenes. Let me inspect them a bit and I'll reshare anything useful.

Pillowbaker, I don't know what other versions of this movie you have. I guess the others are those on Youtube with a lower bitrate. I used the file reshared on eMule and made a nice de-flickered, color corrected anf upscaled new version without logo:

Now we only need subtitles.
This could become a bit tricky, because they also speak French in this movie.

I wonder if the color correction is correct. Is the movie supposed to be in b&w or sepia?
Re: [REL] Mezhdu relsite AKA Between the Rails (1964) [Bulgaria]
I doubt if this reddish color is original and it looks awful. The russian shorter version is also in b&w.mimzy wrote: Sat Feb 15, 2025 4:45 pm I wonder if the color correction is correct. Is the movie supposed to be in b&w or sepia?![]()

Lol, the reddish sepia version was the first way I watched this and I found the faded red-brown tone comforting.
Thank you very kindly, ghost. Your upscale work is awesome.
But I must apologize. I completely forgot about posting the other versions I found. I could have done this easily. But you have already spent all this time on your upscale.
For the moments that French is spoken, we seem to get hardsubs in Bulgarian, SOME of the time. I am not entirely certain, but they do not seem to always speak clear, intelligible French, or that they have little experience speaking French. But I personally can appreciate the attempt. It is better when what we get much of the time in more mainstream movies, where accented English is passed off as another language.
I am able to decipher some of the French. It is difficult:
This is just most of the part in the beginning. There is more spoken throughout. This might be a fun project.
Here is the best quality file I have. It seems to be the original of the file that uploaded to youtube. It seems to be slightly better than the 467mb size file.

Yes, if we want to call them hardsubs. How did they do this in 1964? Painted in the picture? For the moments that French is spoken, we seem to get hardsubs in Bulgarian, SOME of the time.
I already downloaded exact the same file from eMule. Thanks anyway. Here is the best quality file I have.
I started with the subtitles. I made 2 complete raw subtitles with Whipser. One with source language Bulgarian, the other one with French.
The first French spoken part is finished (see attachment). I couldn't get what he is saying before the first line in the subtitles.
Any French speaking guy around?
And about the color: This is a picture from IMDB and it is in b&w.
