[REL] Madita - the series (1979)
Re: [REL] Madita - the series (1979)
Dear sweet, silent NB! Madicken is such a favorite that I absolutely must have another version. Thank you for continuing to share with those willing to search.
Re: [REL] Madita - the series (1979)
I'm not a big fan of the H.265 codec. I reencoded NB's files (without watermark) to H.264 and updated my eMule links. I also replaced the files in my Pixeldrain folder.
Re: [REL] Madita - the series (1979)
Huh? What? Another ghost post? Another ghost revision? I can not keep up!
I completely understand the problems some people can have with H265 when they are using older equipment. Formerly, I experienced it all the time myself and I would recode if I had to. H264 works for almost everyone.
I really, really hesitate to sound critical after all you have done for "Madicken", ghost -- but in the future when you revise posts with new versions, would you pretty please consider giving the files different names? Like just slipping in "H264"? It is far too often that I think I am helping to reshare an existing file and it turns out it has a different eMule HASH, because it is actually a different version. Here a least you gave notice, but still... I am overwhelmed with all sorts of details today and it is hard to keep things straight as it is...
Hugs and Kisses! XOXOXOXOXOXO

I didn't expect this to become such a long journey.Huh? What? Another ghost post? Another ghost revision? I can not keep up!
Yes, I could've rename the files over and over, but in the end there are only 10 video files left and I wanted to have them with proper file names.
Sorry for the confusion.
The project Madicken is finished now (unless season 1 should appear in 4K and without watermark
Re: [REL] Madita - the series (1979)
Hey, I am so talented that I could give at least half a dozen different "proper file names" for different versions of the same movie . Talented / inconsistent ... whatever you wish to call it! The real problem is mine: not only can I not keep up with removing old versions from eMule, I generally do NOT delete them from my hard drives. I do rename the old ones as "OLD" or "V1" but drive maintence is a chore.

I somehow missed this when I first started reading this forum.

Thank you for responding! I am happy that someone else considers this series worth viewing with an eye to what Lindgren may be saying about society. Time and again, I see her stories have a serious intent behind the theme of kids having fun.
I don't think she is in 8, which is mainly about having a good bathe.
Once I get past the mockery of the ridiculous mayor and mayoress in the plane-flight scene of #9, in the rest of it I get the pleasure of seeing how much Madicken loves Abbe! That is the "first love" heart of the Madicken series.
For #10, I love Alva and want her to be happy... BUT the high culture music and dancing upperclass party is exactly the kind of social torture that I really do not appreciate. At least the second part of the episode has the comedy of the two girls impatiently awaiting their new sibling. Hurry up and get out of there!
I think you mean episodes 9 and 10, both of which feature the mayoress. There is the fast-forward button for her scenes, you know.mgray wrote: Wed Apr 09, 2025 8:17 pmThe mayoress ... there are no two episodes I skip more often than 8 and 9, partially over a lack of Madicken, partially because I genuinely can't stand that character.

In episode 10, I wondered exactly how delighted Alva was with the chimney soot on her dress after the dance.
It is astonishing how many otherwise sophisticated storytellers and moviemakers really like poop and fart jokes! (In movies I can name Bergman and Ozu for sure.) I think they are all children at heart.

Re: [REL] Madita - the series (1979)
I never cease to be moved by the whole spanking scene. The way she keeps looking out the window is a nice touch, like she's longing to be anywhere else. The teacher giving her her angel bookmark back and the look of appreciation on her face. The look on madickens face when the rotund boy rats mia out. A nice little detail to show madi didn't support telling on her even after as nasty as Mia had been to her.
I scanned my mardie book but it seems to just cover the first season. Id love to know if the staring out the window is in the book.
I did see we missed out on Madicken(mardie) selling Lisabet(lisbet) as a "buterful little slave" after she bites her chocolate man's head off
I honestly wish I could just have the books in English with the proper names.
NIGHT457 do you know the name of the second book in English? Or how many in total there are?
I also recently rewatched Anne of green gables, a childhood favorite of mine, and realized she also has a roof walking adventure, though it ends significantly worse for her
not really an flm film as I think Anne's actress could be around 19 in that 2 part movie. Great movie, though. The writing of Anne's character really inspired me.
