I changed my ip address to what it showed me when using ipconfig/all and then when clicking on my connection noticed that certain boxes were not ticked including FTP, POP3 and SMTP.

I ticked the boxes, turned off the router, restarted my computer and then restarted emule. It worked
Congrats! But go back and turn FTP, POP3, and SMTP off (those checkboxes are in the router, right?) Those are only needed if you are running an FTP (file) server or a mail server. Turning them off won't affect eMule, but leaving them on slightly increases your exposure to external attack. Never a good idea to leave more ports exposed on your router than needed.

Have replied to you by pm.

Good to see you have it working, other thing I would back up regularly (I do mine about every three days) id the downloads.txt file in EM. This contains the hashes of all the downloads you have so if your system goes tu without closing gracefully, you will almost certainly see file corruption. Repair does not usually work and you have no choice but to delete the corrupt file and re download. Goo to have you on board and looking forward to some good finds !!
