Knowing full well that I would not get very far, out of idle curiosity I made the first click at siminn.is for getting the required Subscription to the streaming site and it gave notice that I need to provide a phone number to authenticate myself with electronic ID. (Image taken from Webpage machine-translation from Icelandic.) My assumption was that it may need an Icelandic phone number.

I don't understand entirely but the streaming seems to be dependent on Icelandic cell phone service, whether for full-time residents or temporary visitors. Some more clicking brought up this, and this time I specifically clicked on the site in English rather than using Google-webpage translate from Icelandic.
