If you are uploading through DSL and downloading via satellite, it seems logical that you have LowID. Unless you are prepared to move to a different internet connection, I suppose you will have to live with it.
The downside of LowID:
1. No one can find you; you have to go looking for them.
2. As a result of 1. finding sources takes time. This means that going offline is going to hurt; you'll find yourself waiting longer after you restart before you get good sources again.
3. Servers have lmited slots for LowID clients. These get filled up very quickly so you'll find it difficult to connect to the good servers.
4. You can't connect to other LowID clients, so a sizable source bank is unavailable to you.
5. Servers seem to blacklist you a lot quicker; even a few global searches will get you blacklisted, which means no more searches and sources for 1 hour.
However, it is not impossible to live with LowID. I did it myself for over a year; might have to do it again if I switch to a different ISP for price/bandwidth considerations. Just try to stay connected for long durations, and have a mix of fast moving and slow files in your downloads - that way you are always getting data from somewhere or the other and the waiting for slow files won't hurt as much.
Regarding searches, rely more on release sites for your links. FLM is one of them but we are more of a rare film site, so the files mentioned here have few sources, mostly.
