Synopsis:

Malu is a student who came from Portugal to Brazil in order to research for her studies as an anthropologist. Her trip to a small village in Florianópolis, though, has taken her to a new place, making her beliefs in the supernatural an important factor for her personal growth. As Malu gets involved with the case of a little girl who suddenly falls sick, she discovers a new mysterious world.

I found some pix of this movie in an old file. I could have sworn I heard of this movie from FLM, but searching came up empty.

I'll have to admit I skimmed the movie and the actress that played Carolina, Rafaela Rocha de Barcelos probably only has 30 - 35% screentime. BUT she IS really cute , and it would seem THIS is the only movie she's ever starred in..

It's listed as 'Drama, Horror', but it's much, MUCH more 'Drama' than 'Horror'..

The movie is pretty wordy and subs would be a BIG benefit. The YouTube file has Portuguese subs (which I didn't know how to rip from YouTube) and possibly someone could translate to English (machine or otherwise) should they feel the movie is worth the time investment..

Hopefully somebody does!

I am afraid that those subtitles are auto-generated, and my experience with YouTube Autogenerated subtitles is that they are a catastrophe for timing and punctuation. It would be less effort to ignore them and make AI-generated subtitles from scratch.

would it look better resized to 480p/576p (whichever is the most natural) then upscaled in Topaz? Maybe it's not worth it for something that's not a special film?

Of course it would look a lot better. I didn't have a look at the movie yet. So I don't know if it would be worth the effort.
