For moving pictures, AVIF and silent video are the main choices for excellent quality and size. I will not support GIF or WebP animations, they are poor quality and too large a file.
I tried for a while and the site won't upload AVIF files, it's not recognized or allowed. And I can't directly embed videos other than youtube.
Sometimes sharing the moving pictures is the more compelling and valuable practice, unless you explicitly prohibit it.
Here's an example:
AVIF (1.2M)

x265 (0.8M)

P.S. AVIF is now a baseline by all modern browsers: https://caniuse.com/?search=AVIF
