This would had been legendary if it was the 4:3 orignal upscaled. But its all the same 16:9 crop.TheProjector1979 wrote: Sun Apr 06, 2025 6:18 pm 4K upscale taken from the US Blu-ray release. English audio and subtitles:

Thanks for your upload.
I'll skip the remux. I have a rip from the Blu-ray, and since it's cropped to 16:9, it's not interesting to me.

Great job, Kingfisher!
So I got it right? This is a result from the TVCap and the blu-ray "mixed" together?
The colors don't match 100 %, but it shows, how the result could look.
How did you blur the TV watermark?
Thanks a lot fot the LD! I'll see what Topaz Starlight can do with it.

That's correct, and the LaserDisc too! Although I don't know if I'd consider the Blu-ray component representative of BD quality after what it went through - definitely need to be more careful.ghost wrote: Tue Aug 26, 2025 10:04 pm So I got it right? Definitely, it's pretty obvious that it can be improved. It's because I did it quite quickly and I'm only an amateur. People like you can definitely perfect this sort of thing, with your years of experience. I spent more time doing it for an OT scene and it looked better. The colors don't match 100 %, but it shows, how the result could look.
It's mentioned in the post, I didn't. I just used the LDCap underneath the TVCap and made a hole. Unfortunately, I didn't sync them up properly because I rushed and didn't want to restart after realising, so it looks delayed, but you can see the quality in the stationary moments. I'd use an automated tracker to make sure it maintains the same position for the real deal. How did you blur the TV watermark?
Looking forward to it! But I thought you already have the LD? You did some work on it: viewtopic.php?p=81731#p81731Thanks a lot fot the LD! I'll see what Topaz Starlight can do with it.
It never ends for this movie, does it? Imagine Paramount do a 4K release in open matte at some point... one can dream.I swore to myself, that I'll never make another Pretty Baby. I spent a whole week with my upscale, corrected the colors 5 or 6 times...

I'm new here. I love this film. I hope you guys will get on board of this project. Uncropping this movie would be a great achievement.

Yes, that was a long time ago and I didn't keep it.But I thought you already have the LD? You did some work on it:

A first test with the LD:
[Code] Doesn't look bad at all, does it? Of course it needs some color grading.

Re: [REL] Pretty Baby (1978)
It's a very good result from that terrible source, looks promising! Though I'm curious to know why'd you'd chose to use the lower res LD rather than the much clearer TV capture? And the matte isn't as opened as the TV capture either!
Re: [REL] Pretty Baby (1978)
I upscaled the TV capture before. Why do it again? The reason is the watermark.Though I'm curious to know why'd you'd chose to use the lower res LD rather than the much clearer TV capture?
