How long have you used it now? It looks like it should be a repack of MakeMKV and would likely expire when the latest MakeMKV expires, which is the end of last month. But I think you should get 30 days with a brand-new install and no previous install. I am not sure this is any better than getting it directly from the MakeMKV site and this version could be packed with malware.

I tried the link anyway and the first download immediately installed Yandex browser and opened a page in Russian, which I can not read, and no obvious way to translate it. I uninstalled that. Second try gave me MakeMKV, which I installed. It was immediately expired because MakeMKV is expired for me.

The MakeMKV software itself has not been updated since May. The Beta key expired at the end of July.

It has not been able to be purchased for weeks.

Various forums confirmed this experience is shared by others, but I got tired of finding no actual answers several days ago and stopped looking.

I fear the worst for Mike admin. :(

AND I THINK THAT MAKEMKV IS DEAD.

I have been occasionally resetting my system clock to use MakeMKV but that has gotten old real fast, and I am not sure it will keep working forever. In some cases I have been using XMediaRecode as an alternate. Does anyone know of any free DVD/BluRay Remuxers that work at least almost as well as MakeMKV?

It should keep working, but it will be more and more disruptive.

I suppose a possible solution is to run MakeMKV from a virtual machine where you can just keep the clock set in the past without causing issues with your main operating system. But that is quite a bit of overhead

The developer's disappearance is concerning

I rarely use the program MakeMKV RePack - but no malware has been detected, yes when you download it from the link, the browser scolds about malware, - I use this program for more than half a year ;)

You can search the network MakeMKV RePack newer version, when you search for a lot of results, but you can run into viruses, downloading from obscure resources

Gee, if I wanted to put in the work to learn how to run a virtual machine then the FIRST thing I would do BEFORE that is learn how to use Linux again. (It has been at least 15 years and I was not very good at it.) Doing that would be work with more value, and I could run Windows on a virtual machine!

The developer of MakeMKV gave us years of use of great software. It is a shame there is not an archived "forever" version of a DVD-only MakeMKV. (Or is there?) Alex_kaplan, I am pretty sure that when I used MakeMKV on BDMVs is when I had the ongoing problems with expiration. Hopefully your version will continue to work without expiration as long as you only use it on DVDs.

Yes, I also constantly had problems with the regular version of MakeMKV and had to constantly update it, that's why I wondered - if you download a cracked version repack - there will be no updates, it's like an archive - and it works without expiration ;)

The problem is, my existing expiration "rolled over" onto it when I tried the repack. I have no idea how to get around that. Hmmm, maybe if I uninstall the old one first instead of letting the new install take care of it? I will have to try when I have time...

I always update to the latest version and I never had an "expiration" message or something like that in years. So I don't understand the issue.

Hmmm, do you use it for BluRays too, or just DVD?

I only used it for DVDs so far. Maybe it's different with blu-ray remuxes.

Of course you need to delete everything that is associated with the old version, and then only load MakeMKV RePack and it will work, also when updating a newer version of MakeMKV - I always delete the old version ;)
