Funny, I was just thinking about this... Easily one of my favorite Chaplin films! Jackie Coogan was such an adorable little boy, very different looking than when he played Uncle Fester on "The Addams Family" in the 1960s.

keebler@TNT posted the shorter 53-minute version, which I presume is the U.K. rerelease. It has a tighter edit. Chaplin tinkered with his older movies long before George Lucas and Francis Ford Coppola did on theirs. ;) [Code] Password: [Code] [Code]

The video Unigami posted... "This video contains content from CPR Agency for MK2, who has blocked it in your country on copyright grounds"

Oof

It's streaming for Free on Justwatch TV anyway (Shouldn't be Geo-Restricted.. Just click the big yellow play button at the top of the page)

Cool Unigami thanks! I have seen Chaplin films but I do not think this one. Thanks Night for the BluRip and Moonee for the colorized verison.

UNCUT 1921 VERSION:

IMDB wrote:A new version was reissued in 1972 with a new music score composed by Charles Chaplin, who also re-edited the film in order to omit a few scenes featuring the kid's mother.
I always like to see multiple versions of a movie so that I can decide for myself if the Old Man Director Revision was necessary or a sign of senility. (Sorry, Charlie.) And I can only make a fair comparison if they are basically equivalent quality. Sadly, the YouTube video that Unigami posted has a fuzzy picture and is not quite what I hoped for. But I can search!

It seems that only the Swedes and Finns have released the longer original version on BluRay.

My search skills for Scandinavian BluRips reached their limit.

Fortunately the original uncut version has been preserved in great-looking quality on Wikipedia and YouTube.
Unfortunately it is truly SILENT with no score. Maybe I can play a CD while watching it?

1080p uncut SILENT 18fps [Code] But OK.ru has a 720p uncut version WITH a music score.

720p uncut with score 19.981 fps [Code] 16fps was standard Silent framerate, but they did go up to 18. Maybe the OK.ru higher framerate was to fit the chosen music.
