That is not a misconception you're going to find here...
She does look atypically matured for 14, not entirely sure how to describe it. But there's more unusual cases.
She absolutely does seem more like 16 or 17 than 14. For one thing, she's taller than most of the grown men in the film. But beyond that Stephanie Hockett was confident, seductive, and poised beyond her years. At least partly due I'm sure to the fact that she was a model - the career she ultimately chose to pursue instead of making more movies. She was already comfortable in front of the cameras. No awkwardness to get over.

14 ... wow. Those Nordic girls sure do grow up fast!

Frankly, I've got the impression that people for whom their own teen years are moving farther and farther into the past sometimes underestimate how quickly teens grow up. In places like this forum, when people discuss the ages of actresses, you often get comments written by people who seem to believe that any actress with a fully developed body must be 18 or 20 or older. That's a misconception, IMO.
At FLM we're all quite familiar with ... human development. Some 12 and 13 year olds look more like college students than young teens. When someone throws out a number what they mean is, using your example, that not knowing a girl's age you might guess she was 18-20 because the
average girl who looks that way is usually in the 18-20 range. You know what I'm saying.
