The disc I posted is one that I downloaded years ago, so I don't remember exactly where I got it from. The .vob files are of normal size and specs for the PAL format. The menus appear to be custom though, made by someone on their PC with DVD authoring software. The original disc which is out of stock, we don't know when or if ... (why don't they just say discontinued?) on Amazon, has the jacket in your image, and was probably a DVD9. They took the main movie files and authored a new DVD with just the main movie that could fit on a DVD5.
This happened quite a lot in the late 90's and early 2000's when discs were mostly shared on Usenet and a lot of people still had dialup internet so file size was a major concern. People traded those 700 MB .avi rips more often than full discs. Remember those days? It doesn't look like the DVD for this movie is terribly expensive but as of recently it has become almost impossible to get stuff shipped to the United States from small companies in Europe. Carriers like DHL, UPS, etc., will do it, with added fees to cover the dumbass tariffs, but many specialty retailers refuse to ship to my country regardless. Shipping addresses in the USA are not accepted.![]()
It must be a custom DVD. But thanks to you for sharing because without this DVD5 we would have nothing.
To buy from Norway, I'd have to go through a forwarding company, and the shipping would be super expensive. I ran a simulation and it cost $1,000 to my country; apparently, they only ship using the most expensive shipping method. It's not worth paying that much for a DVD.
I decided to buy the German edition through the medimops website, the only one with a reasonable shipping price. It will take 20 days to receive it; I hope it's at least a DVD9, as stated on the cover. If everything goes well, I can try to pass it on to you.
This film was the most awarded Norwegian film in 2005 and today you can't find it on any streaming service in high quality, it's so frustrating. I sent a message to the sfanytime website asking them to make the film available. They told me they would send a message to the distributor.
