Thanks for the remuxdeadman wrote: Wed Feb 05, 2025 4:44 amOh, might as well post a remux of this one too while I'm at it:zucawa wrote: Tue Feb 04, 2025 11:55 pm Thank you so much. Not gonna ask where you got the bluray. It seems to be a very rare gem. Not much info about bluray. Not even a release date.

The Blu-ray looked better than the DVD, but still pretty terrible. I did some restoration work:

I couldn't remove all the scratches because of the heavy damage of the source footage, but it looks a lot bettter.

Is this in your preferred scene order as it is on the DVD, but taken from the BluRay, as you previously posted earlier here? -ghost wrote: Sun Nov 09, 2025 12:43 pm The Blu-ray looked better than the DVD, but still pretty terrible. I did some restoration work:

No. It's the original Blu-ray cut.Is this in your preferred scene order as it is on the DVD, but taken from the BluRay, as you previously posted earlier here? -
So, someone has to get the DVD subtitles in sync.

Thank you for the clarification. (Fortunately I speak "hillbilly" and do not need subtitles for myself.

Apparently a full 4K restoration has been done on this movie using multiple copies. All the scratches, brightness variations and so forth were eliminated. So far it's only gotten limited screenings and it's not clear whether they intend to release it for public consumption.
In the meantime that new software is pretty impressive, Ghost. The fluctuating brightness is reduced and the lines aren't as prominent. Especially given the file size, the results are better than I would've expected. Thanks!

It's possible to rearrange scenes without confusing the viewers / making the story too confusing to follow???deadman wrote: Wed Jun 03, 2020 11:55 pm The ordering of scenes is a little different in this version - so don't freak out half an hour in, when Jennie and Freddie don't go swimming on schedule. It happens around the 45 minute mark instead.
I didn't even think rearranging scenes in a movie is possible without ruining the story

Producers and distributors used to arbitrarily re-edit films to suit their audience and maintain interest: put the "good" parts near the beginning to keep them engaged!
Re: [REL] Child Bride (1938)
Fun fact: During one of the swimming scenes, they had to use a double for 11 year old Shirley Mills because she didn't know how to swim
Luckily, the double was still OT (A 13 year old local girl named Bernice Stobaugh)

Maybe this fact was already mentioned during the thread.. I didn't check all 8 pages

It isn't new at all and it even doesn't use AI. "Normal" users don't know it. It's the world leading film restoration software....that new software is pretty impressive
