I have saved even reading this new FLM post until last after I finished all the rest, because I knew I would have something to say.

Is this movie really that bad?

It is $#&%^@! TERRIBLE!! I test myself with watching movies known to be awful, and this one was truly painful. I have not yet been brave enough to watch it a third time. Thanks for the reminder... I am due for punishment.

There are bad movies that are fun because they are cheesy or hilariously inept. (Like the cult classic "Troll 2".) This is not one of those, it is just stupefyingly bad. Being intoxicated while watching it might help increase the enjoyment.

apparently it's supposed to be like 96 minutes (roughly 1 and a half hours)

There are multiple versions of the movie available, but I don't remember what the shortest one I encountered was.

The VHS release from United Home Video, and the "Rifftrax" edition DVD from Legend Films, feature Thumbelina (1970). When the "Rifftrax Live!" version was shown in theaters on December 3, 2015, it featured Jack and the Beanstalk (1970).

The DVD release from Legend Films cuts 12 minutes from the Thumbelina (1970) segment.

In the United Home Video VHS release, the Thumbelina (1970) portion is after the Santa portion, rather than in the middle of the film. The Santa scene fades to black as he starts telling the story, then immediately fades back in.

(November 2018) The version streaming on Amazon Prime Video features Jack and the Beanstalk (1970).

I saw a few images in the OP and some of them are quite adorable

Are you trying to force me to watch this again and time their presence on screen? Whatever did I do to YOU?

They have significant screen time in the Santa portions but are mostly a group of children rather than individual characters.

Rifftrax is comedians who comment on and make fun of the generally awful movies they watch. It developed from the "Mystery Science Theater 3000" series, where they were held captive and forced to watch them by a mad scientist.

So, it sounds like Tubi is the shortened jack and the beanstalk version

That's my guess. I am sort-of watching it now on TV as I browse online. I will upload this shortest version as it is probably the least painful (because of length) and it has the best video quality. I have not found a truly GOOD copy of the Thumbelina version, and I remember wanting to kill myself during that story. If I have the time and energy I will compare the runtime of the Santa/Bunny/children scenes to see if they are complete across both versions or if that story is shorter too.

There are two main versions of "Santa and the Ice Cream Bunny", with two different fairytales being told by Santa. Both versions have the same Santa/Bunny/children scenes totaling about 33 minutes. One version has 62 minutes of "Thumbelina" and the other about 37 minutes of "Jack and the Beanstalk". I recommend 25 minutes LESS of wretched fairytale adaptation, so you can focus on the derangement of the Ice Cream Bunny yet still come out relatively unscathed. This is the shorter Jack and the Beanstalk version, which has rough video quality but still looks far better than any SD Thumbelina version that I have found. I recommend some beer while watching at home if you like it, but don't risk anything harder if you want to still be conscious.
