Huu, that was getting very specific now. :o

Basicly you can add users as a friend in eMule. I think the purpose is that they get a higher rank in your queue and don't have to waiit so long until the download starts.

I for example (using a mod) have this option iin the settings:

And Night457: You ARE my friend in eMule.;) I added you a long long time ago (unless you made a new installation since then).

The reason I actually asked this is because.. I'm getting a new pc for christmas and I just wanted to make sure I'll still be part of Ghost's friends list ;)

Yes, absolutely. If you are unable to Verify it yourself, you can post it and say "NOT VERIFIED". If someone else Verifies it then they should post that information.

Would having multiple downloads slow down emule?

Like for example, if I want the best possible download speed for a file in emule, is it best to have only that download going?

Also, would having multiple browser tabs open also cause emule downloads to slow down

Or does none of this affect emule downloads?

You're downloading from other users using their residential internet connection, not a data center like the file hosts posted here. Many people also do not have symmetrical internet connections and have a slower upload speed than download. And ed2k has other limitations like only being able to download one file from the same person at a time.

It's hard to believe things are that bad. Almost all of my dreadfully slow downloads are from outside FLM.

Ah, thanks! makes sense

I'm just used to DDL or downloads I find on the internet and these do slow down when I have multiple tabs open or multiple downloads going lol

Another thing..

If I'm in the middle of downloading.. Lets say I'm about 1gb done out of 3gb and I need to turn off my pc for a while (which will disconnect me from eMule)

Will I need to restart the entire download once I return?

Nope. The segments you already downloaded are saved and the download will resume, assuming the source is still around.

I mean... I still have a few downloads from last December

Thank goodness, was a little worried

There's gonna be a few downloads that's gonna take like about a day or so to complete because not many sources I can connect to

And I can't keep my pc running all the time

I don't need to pause/stop (not cancel) the download before I exit emule right?
