Also, I'm confused.. This image doesn't look like the girl in the OP (Abby Rider Fortson) but I could just be half asleep

No, the girl in that picture is Alessandra de Sa Pereira. She plays the deaf little sister of one of the main male characters. Abby Ryder Fortson appears only in the pilot episode. I won't say who she plays since that would spoil the story for anyone who hasn't watched it. Two different girls though.
