FLM Origins: First Post
Re: FLM Origins: First Post
Please continue disussions about the first FLM posts in this new thread here.
Re: [REQ] Dust Bunny (2025)
Safe Jason Statham and the beautiful autistic Asian girl; Homefront is also interesting, with its father-daughter plot.
Re: FLM Origins: First Post
Talking about Homefront, Izabella Vidovic is such a great actress (I just wished she had more roles as a Child Actress)

Too bad your contest to guess the first FLM posts wasn't successful!Night457 wrote: Mon Dec 22, 2025 11:03 pm Please continue disussions about the first FLM posts in this new thread here.
The mystery of those first five films lies in the difference between Rich's forum registration date (Feb 21, 2004) and his post about Leon (Feb 22, 2004). What did Rich do in those 24 hours?
I'd be willing to bet that one of the first five films posted was Pretty Baby, whose current thread suspiciously only begins in 2006, while the film was already being discussed in 2004.
Another suspect is Lolita, whose current thread starts after the one about the deleted scenes.

Anyway, Rich has all the answers, and I hope he sees this thread.
It's a recap for the 15th anniversary of FLM.

Re: FLM Origins: First Post
I bet some of those 6 initial posts were simply test posts to check if the forum software works in the first place
Re: FLM Origins: First Post
BugMeNot, Sully, mimzy - thank you for the investigation, vintage links, and insights!

Yeah, that's probably right.I bet some of those 6 initial posts were simply test posts to check if the forum software works in the first place
If I just could remember the first letters I wrote in this forum 21 years ago.
FLM started as a normal website with some movie posters and eMule links. Then Rich was setting up the forum software... I was in contact with him nearly every day at that time. Somehow we did the whole thing together, but the details have vanished over the years in my old head.

Thanks so much Sully, I wasn't aware of that thread. It's got the whole story. From the way he talked about it, it's likely the first post was about Leon.Sully23 wrote: Fri Dec 26, 2025 3:08 pm Anyway, Rich has all the answers, and I hope he sees this thread.

I'm convinced too. Especially when Rich says: "At the time I also created a few fake profiles and even had full conversations with myself just to get the site going hahah"ghost wrote: Sat Dec 27, 2025 12:47 amYeah, that's probably right.I bet some of those 6 initial posts were simply test posts to check if the forum software works in the first place
Re: FLM Origins: First Post
Pretty Baby can't have been the 2057 thread (I have a feeling that the original thread was deleted and eventually was remade)BugMeNot9999 wrote: Fri Dec 26, 2025 5:50 am I'd be willing to bet that one of the first five films posted was Pretty Baby, whose current thread suspiciously only begins in 2006, while the film was already being discussed in 2004.
But yea, sounds like the first few threads were just test threads or the like
