I remember the good old days when everyone in the country could watch a show with no broadcast problems! Netflix needs more investment in their infrastructure. Maybe if so much Internet was not wasted on AI and Bitcoin generation, there would bandwidth available for Netflix.

There is no reason the property owners can not make sequels, prequels, remakes to keep milking the cash cow. It does not even matter how terrible a follow-up is - if you make it they will watch.

But a surpise airing of a secret finale NOW? Wow. That sounds an unlikely thing for someone to believe. They should wait for the BluRay Season 5 release for a possible unaired alternate ending. That at least has precedent.

This was basically like a DDoS attack. It's not bandwidth because you can get just as many people streaming the same thing at the same time without a problem. But in a normal premiere you don't have everyone trying to initiate access to the same resource at exactly 8 PM and zero seconds. Yeah, they should probably upgrade their infrastructure to handle that.

The whole secret episode thing makes me laugh. Apparently some people don't understand what "series finale" means. Everyone's upset that Eleven's fate wasn't definitive and she and Mike don't get the ending we were all hoping for. People don't like the outcome so they're convincing themselves it's not real. Personally I can't get that worked up over a TV show. I loved this one, it was a unique and epic piece of television imo, but ... it's a show. And in most respects the final episode was exactly what it needed to be.

Of course, a producer is going to pull the fake finale trick at some point since the idea has been so widely circulated. You know they will. It's one of those outside the box attention getting marketing ploys the corporate suits aren't creative enough to have invented on their own - but now it's too good to leave unused.
