Re: EMULE MESSAGE...
I see, it seems to be some kind of zip file.
I take it that once iv installed the program thats zipped up I can then click the update button on PG (once iv reinstalled PG), and the updates will work?
Sorry for all the questions, I just like to know 100% what it is im downloading, and have a clear understanding before I download it.

Sometimes you are delightfully Luddite
Actually that zip file isn't a program, it's the ip filters data zipped up. You don't need to unzip it or even download it, actually, just go to the eMule Options button, click on "Security", and put that URL into the IP Filter "Update from URL" entry box. Click the Load button and it will fetch the file and update the filters. Some mods have the ability to update it automatically, I don't think vanilla eMule does though.
Edit: note that I assumed you'd want to directly install it into eMule, which is the easiest way really, not into PG... I don't use PG myself but I have to believe there's a way to tell PG to use that same URL or file to update its filters.

Luddite
It’s not like im totally un-savvy when it comes to technical stuff.
I’m not after a blocker just for eMule, as I run more than one P2P.
That’s why I used to like PG before it stopped updating.
So if I reinstall PG, what am I doing with this zip file?
Re: EMULE MESSAGE...
Not running PG (PG2 actually, from what I've read) I can't specifically help you. I will say, though, that if your only other p2p is WinMX then if you use the WinMXGroup patch (which replaces a DLL, as opposed to the "pie" patch which does nothing more than change your hosts file) then you shouldn't need PG2, similar function is built into the patched DLL. There is a lot of controversy surrounding which patch is better (the mideast seems less acrimonious) but when I run WinMX the WinMXGroup patch works for me, and I take care of eMule by putting the URL into it as I described above.Debaser wrote:So if I reinstall PG, what am I doing with this zip file?

Re: EMULE MESSAGE...
I use PIE.
I am a long term friend of Vladd and his crew, the people that were first to get WinMX back on its feet.
WinMXGroup underhandedly poached PIE users, not to mention the fact that they also hacked into Vladd44.com... hence a court case going through at the moment.
As good as WinMXGroup is, I get great results with PIE.
Ill wait until they fix PG2, but thanks for the advice.
