Does it have hard coded subs? citronleaf's version is noticeabley better in quality but the hard coded subs is a downside.Kingfisher wrote: Wed Feb 18, 2026 9:38 amI don't. But I have a different HDTV source from citronleaf's WEB-DL. E1 is 3.7gb, so slightly higher bitrate at 9mbpsdeadman wrote:

I'm Sicilian, and Sicilian films sometimes create some rather peculiar scenes, like this one. Like Malenà, Baarìa, and Cinema Paradiso, these films were shot in Sicily and a small island in southern Italy, where summer temperatures can reach 52-54 degrees.
I'll do some research, let's see if I can find something new filmed in my Sicily by asking the AI. If I find anything very interesting similar to this series, I'll share it immediately on FLM.
There won't be a second season for this series, also because director Valeria Golino stated in the interview that she won't direct the second season.

I apologise, there are in fact HC subs, just didn't look carefully enough - whenever they speak a certain dialect. Also, the audio is lower quality compared to citronleaf's file. I haven't visually compared them, the bitrate difference is too small to determine if there's an advantage.

Thank you! There were some hard coded subs in this but not in any important scenes like with citronleaf's file. After watching both I have to say that despite your filesize being larger with higher bitrate, citronleaf's version is noticeably better quality with more sharpness, although the hard coded subs were intrusive in some scenesKingfisher wrote: Wed Feb 18, 2026 5:33 pm I apologise, there are in fact HC subs, just didn't look carefully enough - whenever they speak a certain dialect. It's very pretty, but I didn't like it; it goes by too fast, so I slowed down the playback speed. It would have been better if she walked around and explored the convent.Davros6 wrote: Wed Feb 18, 2026 2:55 am Might be a sign of things to come in other shows and movies, we live in hope.

This was a TV series. Italian broadcasters seem to have a lot of leeway. So as much as I would've liked to see that, or a long scene where she was evading the nuns who were looking for her, I'm amazed we saw as much as we did. Viviana Mocciaro is amazingly cute.
It's unfortunate there's so little information available about her, and so few images or videos. She doesn't appear to have any social media accounts. At least none that are publicly available. She might have an Instagram or other account under a username that doesn't show up in any web searches. Perhaps set to private, just for her friends and family. Too bad. Some girls her age are prolific posters.

Thank you! It's hard to tell whether this version or the playWEB file looks better. The difference is subtle, if there is one. No hard burned subs is a plus though. At least in the places where you really don't want them. As you pointed out there are some.

Biographical series are usually short; if 6 episodes cover half of Modesta's life, a second season is likely if there are more moments from Modesta's childhood.Caleyunior wrote: Wed Feb 18, 2026 5:27 pm There won't be a second season for this series, also because director Valeria Golino stated in the interview that she won't direct the second season.
I once saw a series about mermaids; the little mermaid was the only one who didn't use her hair to cover herself, although I expected it to be the opposite for the adult mermaids.deadman wrote: Fri Feb 20, 2026 9:09 am This was a TV series. Italian broadcasters seem to have a lot of leeway.
Another series I watched was Brigands: The Quest for Gold, which followed the subplot of the general's daughter. I went weeks without Netflix until they removed it from the catalog. I don't know if the series is material for FLM.

How old was the general's daughter?
And what was the name of that mermaid show?
I agree, Italian HBO with zero censorship. I'd pay the monthly subscription in a second!
