Strange views
Guys, I noticed something strange that made me a little worried. A few minutes ago, I posted two short films in the "REQ" shorts section: one about Splitter (2026) and one about Im Kreis (2025). After 5 minutes, I returned to the section where I posted the two shorts. Both had reached 5 views, and from there, nothing seemed strange to me. Until about 10/12 minutes later, I returned to the shorts section because I had found another short film, the one about Coupe au bol (2025/2026). The two shorts I had posted before had already received one: the one about Im Kreis (101 views) and the one about Splitter (124 views).
Now I don't know whether to worry or not, but this is the first time I've seen something strange like this after four years on FLM. I post a short film and after a few minutes I find myself with more views. Doesn't that seem strange to you?

Want to hear something even STRANGER?
I do not have the faintest idea how to tell how many views a post has had. How do you do it?
It is probably Google bot and other search bots routinely scanning new material online. Mimzy would likely know.

The number of topic views is listed in the topic list. If there is just a single post, you could say it is the post views.Night457 wrote: Fri Feb 20, 2026 12:26 am I do not have the faintest idea how to tell how many views a post has had. How do you do it?
Looks like Moonee's recent REQs in the "shorts" forum have lots of views too, and the "shorts" forum in general has more views than other forums. I guess it's just a popular forum and probably followed by many users. There are tens of users (mostly guests) online in any moment, so getting lots of views should be normal and nothing to worry about. Or?

Seriously? lolNight457 wrote: Fri Feb 20, 2026 12:26 am I do not have the faintest idea how to tell how many views a post has had. How do you do it?
It literally says when you're browsing the forums

Yeah, I'm also super confusedmimzy wrote: Fri Feb 20, 2026 1:28 am Looks like Moonee's recent REQs in the "shorts" forum have lots of views too
I only posted that thread about 12 hours ago and it already has almost 300 views
But yeah, even if this is not normal.. it's nothing to really be worried about
Who cares if a thread has an unusual high amount of views, doesn't really make much of a difference

Jeez, I learn something new every... couple months, I guess. Not every day. (And then I forget it.)Moonee wrote: Fri Feb 20, 2026 1:28 am It literally says when you're browsing the forums

Of course I never browse the forums. Why would I do that? I just do Quick links > Unread posts.
EDIT, later: And now I see that the "Views" column is also in the "Unread posts". Sheesh. I have a tremendous capacity for ignoring what is right in front of me I guess!
Re: Strange views
Do search bot views count in the View tally, or are they left out? Does the same bot view a post more than once?mimzy wrote:

Re: Strange views
Most likely from the other forum on TNT, someone mentioned this FLM forum that we publish rare content compared to the other one, and it is possible that users who are on TNT are also members here on FLM.

Re: Strange views
Now I go back to the section where I posted the three shorts last night and I see another strange thing: the one where I posted Coupe au bol AKA Bowl Cut (2025/2026) has already received 126 views so far. It doesn't bother me, but I'm quite surprised.
