[REL] The Blue Lagoon (1980)
Re: [REL] The Blue Lagoon (1980)
It's done.
For the first time ever: The movie in crisp sharp 4K and in aspect ration 4:3.
I'm giving you 3 download options:
1.
UHD (2160p), H.265 codec, HDR color space.
The Blue Lagoon (1980).2160p.H.265.DD5.1.HDR.ENG.GER.mkv (15.8 GB) [Code] [Code] I can tell you that it looks absolutely amazing on a big OLED TV which can play High Dynamic Range (HDR) videos!!!
2.
UHD (2160p), H.264 codec, SDR color space (standard).
The Blue Lagoon (1980).2160p.H.264.DD5.1.SDR.ENG.GER.mkv (11.5 GB) [Code] [Code] 3.
Full UHD HDR Blu-ray disc ISO with a nice menu, trailer and a Making-Off of the film also in 4K. (38.8 GB)
(Thanks to KingFisher!)
it is BD-50, so a regular Blu-ray burner can be used. The source BD is Night457's Eureka UK disc.
It plays fine in VLC.

[Code] Only watch HDR versions if you have a 10-bit HDR display.
All versions come with English and German audio.
Happy downloading!

Re: [REL] The Blue Lagoon (1980)
Brilliant work, ghost! Pleasure working with you, as always
I think someone will ask, so I'll add... yes, the disc version has a different encode (~30gb) from the other HDR encode (both from a 350GB ProRes master) - although I haven't compared visually to confirm if there are any noticeable gains. There is also DTS-XLL primary audio, and DTS audio for extras. And, as ghost said, it is in the rec.2100 color space, so you should only download if you have a compatible monitor/TV. But I presume those with a 4K player will have an HDR TV

Re: [REL] The Blue Lagoon (1980)
I am afraid there was some miscommunication here, and I don't want to take credit where it is not due. I verified some contents from my personal copy of the Eureka UK BluRay disk because I have one, but I do not have the equipment to rip and share BluRays. Would that I did! It must have been actually sourced from elsewhere online.

Excellent job! Thank you, ghost. But can you transfer these into ed2k links? That would be perfect! Or anyone else can do it?ghost wrote: Thu Feb 19, 2026 4:47 pm It's done.
