Not upset at all, but I never heard of Slytherin because I never watched or read any Harry Potter! I just thought "Huh, those young kids are kinda cute."kev wrote: Sat Feb 21, 2026 10:55 pm Caleyunior is showing you he's an advocate for Slytherin. SLYTHERIN

Now are you upset and ready to PM him with a righteous tongue lashing?![]()
But if Slytherin are the enemies of the "heroes" of the series, I can understand why someone might be on the side of the bad guys after 7 books and 8 movies. It is like... ummm... cheering on Darth Vader and the Sith and the Emperor? Is that a good comparison? I think the Jedi are the major arseholes.

For the real fans of the books and films, we all want to know when the series gets to The Goblet of Fire, will Dumbledore ask Harry if he put his name in the goblet, calmly

I wonder how many seasons we will get
1 Season will cover 1 Movie/Book?

Well, they're wanting to stay true to the books, but as the books get longer as they go along, I'm not sure if they will do more episodes as it goes along, or split the longer books into 2 seasons or just cut the less important bits of the story outMoonee wrote: Sun Feb 22, 2026 12:11 am I wonder how many seasons we will get

Sounds like we might be seeing a bit of aging throughout the series

I read somewhere that the Harry Potter series is supposed to last seven seasons, keeping the same plot as the books. J.K. Rowling herself considered creating the new series because the films didn't live up to the books. As a Slytherin fan, I expect great surprises from the new Draco Malfoy. It's a shame that most people don't want this series because, in their opinion, it makes no sense. I hope that next year, when it airs on HBO Max, the first season of Harry Potter doesn't suffer from poor ratings; that worries me a little.

By the way, I changed the year to (2027) as it has been confirmed that it will be broadcast next year, right now they are in the reshoots phase, who knows which episode they have arrived at this moment.

Only time will tell but from what I've seen over the years with remakes and the like, this is inevitableCaleyunior wrote: Sun Feb 22, 2026 2:44 am I hope that next year, when it airs on HBO Max, the first season of Harry Potter doesn't suffer from poor ratings
I've been seeing a lot of hate towards this upcoming series

I think it won't be so successful. People will remember and love the original cast too much. Who could be better than Alan Rickman as Snape? Some proper great, famous british actors filling the teacher roles. And a few race changes will argue the anti-woke bregade which are strong now with the orange man in power!
But they will be able to be more faithful to the books - cut less - 6x45m or 8x45m is going to allow a lot more time vs a 2h film. I recall one book having 3 quidditch games and subpots related to it were dropped - but then the film only had one in it. Presumably it's one season per book. One school year per book. Hopefully they won't film each year every 2-3 years and they'll be 25yr olds playing 16-17y at the end! ala Stranger Things or anything else made these days!
