No, the defaults should work... but you should filter servers too (don't remember if the default for that is checked or not).

They are written to the verbose log in the server tab (as long as the "Log filtered and/or ignored IPs" setting is checked under the Extended options.

The thread: http://forum.emule-project.net/index.ph ... opic=19247 talks about the ipfilter and claims it's updated periodically (though like a lot of threads there you need to read the very first message and then skip forward to near the end of the thread or you'll get confused by a lot of 3 year old posts that aren't really relevant any more).

Thanks

If I occasionally click LOAD next to the URL now permanently displayed in eMule security options, will that keep things nicely up to date?

Yep! Exactly
How come the file to download is always the same size - 2.62MB
Makes it look like the same blocklist each time I click load.

Just loaded 184907 filters - next time you load this, see if the amount differs.

If you open the ipfilter file with Wordpad or something similar you should see a version number there. Check at the site you download the filter from for the latest version number, then update if necessary.

Eg. I use http://emulepawcio.sourceforge.net/nieu ... filter.dat

Change the extension to .txt to get the current version number on the site.
http://emulepawcio.sourceforge.net/nieu ... filter.txt

Download http://emulepawcio.sourceforge.net/nieu ... filter.zip, extract the file, rename it to ipfilter.dat, then copy the file to your emule/config folder, replacing the old one already there.

Thanks guys

I use the link to download that is in this topic, and apparently its a good one.
I just wondered about the file size always being the same.

When its updated ill compare the number of filters.
