Just ripped a movie from DVD.

Up until now I was using SUPERDVDRIPPER. It kicked ass... One click and its done.

Sadly SUPERDVDRIPPER wont run anymore, and I heard the keygen also fails when people download it.
Anyway, that’s not the point.
Iv just tried my first rip using other software, in this case... DVD Shrink & DVDx.. The results are crap compared to SUPERDVDRIPPER, but life is too short to keep doing this, so ill live with DVDshrinks & DVDx's blocky work.

My question is. How do I shave off the black boarder that is at the bottom and sides of the resulting AVI file (something SUPERDVDRIPPER also didn’t suffer from)

Iv looked up cropping on google, but all I find is stuff about choosing regions etc... basically more bloody work.

All I need is a tool like what Adobe Photo shop uses, so I can simply shave off the dark stuff around the video that is not needed.

Thanks for any help.

AutoGK to crop the size of my resulting AVI's?

It took me days to learn how to use shrink & DVDx, and I really don’t have the time to work out another ripping tool.

I will live with the results, and so I just want to crop what is now on my HDD

I’m past deciding what ripping software to use, iv been given so many choices from people that say which is best... my head is going to explode!

Its sunny outside, I wana crop then go out and live life :)

So, all I really want to know is, what nice simple unpackaged with other software cropping tool to use, and where to get it for free :)

Sorry. After all that im going to live with the boarders.
Iv checked other movies and they two sometimes have side boarders, but I never really noticed before.
You scrutinize something for too long and it takes all the fun out of it, as I just found!!

Ok im getting f'kin angry with ripping tools.

If AUTOGK is dead easy = no screwing about just like you didn’t with superdvdripper, and if I don’t have to download anything except AUTOGK in order to rip from the DVD and make it an AVI, and if anyone can please explain to me how to do it in English, not like it is written in the link to AUTOGK, I will try one more time.

I just hope this doesn’t eat into my entire Sunday afternoon.

Lastly, can someone paste a link to the correct AUTOGK download, not a package of programs that are not required and end up filling my pc with more stuff I dont need or understand, that would be great.

Thank you

Im stuck already.

I have to choose what they call an input file.
Iv loaded the DVD and now im faced with the following:

VIDEO_TS.IFO
VIDEO_TS.VOB
VTS_01_0.IFO
VTS_01_1.VOB
VTS_01_2.VOB
VTS_01_3.VOB

Nowhere in the instructions does it tell you which one to click on so I can make my AVI.

It just says
First, you have to select an appropriate input file that AutoGK is going to be dealing with and which determines also the type of input source:

IFO file is used when you have a DVD like directory that contains IFO file and corresponding VOB files. IFO file is parsed and choice of audio streams and subtitles is presented to the user. If IFO file contains multiple PGCs (program chains) or angles then user will be asked to confirm which ones contained in the vobset (unless the name of VOB file contain this information already). Note that AutoGK cannot work properly on a vobset that still has multiple angles/program chains, so make sure to use appropriate tools to prepare the vobset. Another thing to remember is that AutoGK only works on unencrypted VOB files.
MPG, MPEG, VOB, VRO, M2V, M1V, DAT files are expected to have MPEG1/MPEG2 video inside. Only information about audio type (but not language in case of VOBs) is available for these types of files.
TS, TP, TRP, M2T files are expected to be transport streams with MPEG2 video inside. If it has multiple video streams then you'll be asked to confirm which stream AutoGK will be working with.
AVI files can have potentially any type of video inside (including DivX/XviD and DV sources). Main requirement for AutoGK to be able to process them is that they can be played in Windows Media Player (or any other DirectShow-based player) on your Windows installation. For current limitations and features see latest FAQ on AutoGK's web site
If you want to encode multiple input files into one resulting AVI you can do it by appropriately naming input files: *_1.vob;*_2.vob etc and selecting just the first one (Extension can be any of supported types apart from AVI). In IFO mode AutoGK automatically selects all VOBs that belong to one vobset.
LOL come again!?!

Ghost, could you quickly exaplain which buttons I push to make an AVI out of my DVD.

Thanks and sorry for the stress

PS, I just read..
AutoGK only works on unencrypted VOB files
. Thats good. Not! Dont tell me, you need another program to do that?
