On an ophthalmology ward for children and teens, the kids have developed a "game" where a randomly selected boy and a randomly selected girl must meet in the basement to "fool around." A new lad of about sixteen at first objects but eagerly agrees when he learns he is to be paired with an attactive blind girl about his age.

The two then become a bit of an item, so much so that when our hero is told he can go home he develops a psychosomatic illness which takes away his sight and, in turn, permits him to stay. But when an operation allows our heroine to see, she finds herself feeling not so attracted to the one she thought she loved. Might these two find happiness by the time the ending credits role?
