Got this one on DVD...

As cute as the girl is, I found it a real snore-fest... No OT scenes that I can remember [didn't watch it all] BUT I'm sure it will appeal to many by virtue of the girl alone...

Not so much self righteous as it is pure weepy melodrama with some fantasy and slap-sticky comedy thrown in here and there. Worthy enough for an upgrade.

I was doing some spring cleaning and found this DVD along with some others in a box and decided to finally finish it. While it's not really my cuppa tea, it's not the 'snorefest' that I said it was in an earlier post.

The girl Filomena Di Talia isn't the best little actress nor is she a raving beauty. But she's cute and has a fair amount of screen-time; check the caps to see if you think it will be worth your while.

Here's a quick synopsis:

Drama set in the small village of Fontanarosa in Irpinia, Italy and based on a true incident which occurred in the 1980's. Fortunato, a poor laborer steals the village's antique Christmas manger from the church, in order to raise money to pay for his sick daughter Filomena's medical expenses. He gives her one of the statues which she subsequently 'imagine's' to life and it becomes her 'imaginary friend', helping her through her time of illness....The Stolen Christmas ( Il Natale rubato )
