Re: [REL] Kid Svensk (2007)
The same is the case with Five Children and It, that i wanted to make a dual audio release from. I wonder if it is a new kind of copyprotection, cause my "Five.."-disc and the "Kid"-dvds are pure retails without any scratches at all.
Re: [REL] Kid Svensk (2007)
I have heard it said in passing that some recent releases have different copy protection, but haven't seen any details. Could be.
Is the DVD playable on the computer (assuming you have relatively recent software which does so)? If so then it's almost certainly copy protection.

Re: [REL] Kid Svensk (2007)
yes I can read it on my computer with no problem, even if it is an R2. I doubt it would play on my dvd player though, since it handles only r1 and r0.
Re: [REL] Kid Svensk (2007)
I've never run into a problem like this, and I've backed up quite a few DVDs with DVD Decryptor. But a little googling shows the following program has been recently updated to include newer copy protections, so it's definitely worth a try. Even if it's not the copy protection (probably is) maybe it will give you better information as to the problem.

DVDFab HD Decrypter is a simple version of DVDFab Platinum. It copies entire DVD movie to hard disk, and removes all the protections (CSS, RC, RCE, APS, UOPs and Sony ARccOS) while copying. It also comes with full HD-DVD and Blu-Ray support (Removes AACS).
Re: [REL] Kid Svensk (2007)
ok dvdfab created 2 IFO files 5 VOB files and 2 BUP files. I have no idea what to use on AutoGK
Re: [REL] Kid Svensk (2007)
That's progress!
I can't say for certain, because DVDs follow certain conventions but the details change.
VTS_01_0.IFO will be accompanied by VTS_01_1.VOB, VTS_01_2.VOB etc. But that might not be the main movie, maybe VTS_02_0.IFO (and VTS_02_1.VOB etc) is what you need. Look for the # which has the most VOBS with the same number. In AutoGK load the most likely IFO file as Input file. If there is more than one PGC it will pop up with a choice, showing the play length to help you decide. If there is only one it will just show the length below the Output file. There is a little trial and error here to get the right one.
If all else fails try loading the lowest numbered _1.VOB, but you are at a higher risk of gettign stuff you don't want like trailers and extras. On some DVDs you can only avoid those by using what DVD Decryptor calls IFO mode and I don't know if DVDFab has that, I'll have to look at it it when I get a chance.

Re: [REL] Kid Svensk (2007)
i think i got it, it made 2 CD avi, but it didnt make any subs with it. how do you make subs that would match with the 2 CD format?
Re: [REL] Kid Svensk (2007)
Use SubRip to convert the subs from an optical format to a text format (.srt). Then you can split it with Subtitle Workshop.

If it is too much for you, just zip or rar the .idx and .sub files that you have ripped and post them here. We'll have a crack at it. The optical character recognition is a little messy. Splitting the .srt subs is the easy part.

AutoGK saves subs in DVD format (an .IDX file and a .SUB file inside a .RAR file) when you check "Use external subtitles" under "Advanced Options".
For 2CD rips you need SubRip to OCR the subtitle bitmaps and produce a text .SRT. Some DVDs SubRip is relatively quick and easy (if the font is clear and easy for the program to figure out) sometimes not. A program like Subtitle Workshop is then used to split the .SRT into two files to match the 2 CDs.

An easier approach (and less time consuming for you personally, though it might take longer for your computer) is to redo the conversion in AutoGK but instead of a predefined 2CD select "Custom size" and set it to 1400MB. It will generate a single file of the same size as the two you now have together, and VLC and other programs can directly use the subtitle SUB/IDX/RAR files and they will sync up perfectly.
