Error No. 0x00000059
It happened already several times, when I wanted to look at downloaded parts of any movie in "Temp" that instead of movie appeared this warning, together with "The file is already in use. Please close all programs which may use the files or stop the playing and try it again". Recently I´m d/ding two movies, Czech "Duhová kulička" and Italian "Addio ultimo uomo", and every time I want to look at it in "Temp" I get this warning. But those files are in no way in use, even not d/ded by other eMule users. So what´s wrong? Thanks in advance for advices.

Most media players don't like trying to play a file that is being used by another program, in this case your eMule client. Two media players that don't mind are VLC and MPC (media Player Classic). Both are free and work pretty well. Enjoy.
When you have installed one of these players, open the options in your eMule client and set the path for the media player that will be used for preview accordingly.

Thanks emuler.
Re: Error No. 0x00000059
Huh, it still doesn´t work, even with VLCplayer. It shows no messages, just doesn´t work. I guess there must already a considerable part of the movie downloaded, otherwise it won´t work anyway.
Re: Error No. 0x00000059
Do you have the first part (chunk 0) downloaded? This contains the avi header which tells the media players what is in the file and how the bits and bytes are arranged. Unless you have this, the media players don't know what to do with the rest of the data.
In your client there should be a setting for preview.
In eMule Plus this is a per file setting - right click the file and the context menu has Advanced>Get first/last chunks for preview.
In eMule and variants, I think it is there in options, something like 'download preview chunks'.
If you enable this setting, your client will try to request the chunks that are needed for preview out of turn. For avi files the setting is first chunk, then last two chunks (which contain the avi index and make seeking in the file a lot easier).
You don't need the setting 'create backup to preview' if you are using VLC or MPC. Other players do need this, but it is hugely wasteful of disk space. A copy of the recovered data is created in a temporary file which is automatically deleted after preview. Better stick with VLC and/or MPC.
The preview works really well. In eMule Plus, the preview menu item is enabled when about 360 KB of the first part have been downloaded, and if you are lucky, you can see one frame. A couple of MB downloaded will give you a decent look to enable you to see picture quality..
