RFF http://www.rarefilmfinder.com/showfilm.php?id=2523 mentioned Dmitri Iosifov in the role of Buratino (in 1975 version, is there any other?), so defintely a boy.

Difficult to tell at that age, which is why we like seeing them with their clothes off - just to be sure. :dance :icon_1dancingban :icon_biggrin2
