eMule Plus

Post by abel »   0 likes

I receive constantly into eMule news informations and links to download eMule Plus. Frankly, I am a bit distrustful because this messages look very "spamlike". Can anybody tell me how safe it is to install eMule Plus and what is the difference between this and let´s say eMule v.0.48a I actually use? Is it really faster?

I use plain and simple eMule 0.48a.
It works so why fix it??

I don’t think a different app would be any faster than this one.
We can only download as fast as the uploader can give!!
Or do other apps magic up more bandwidth than is already on offer from the uploaders lol

This is the first time I have heard of such a thing happening. eMule Plus is a respected, stable, open source and free ed2k client and has no need to resort to such means.

However, there are scam sites which dupe people into paying for free software or into sending them three SMS etc. Maybe one of these has become more active than usual.

To add to the confusion, a rogue client called e++ was doing the rounds a few months ago. All the legitimate clients developed countermeasures against it and it is rarely seen now. Good riddance. :clap

Can you post one of these messages for me? I'll pass it on to the eMule Plus team.

Yes, Debaser, I also don´t think to change eMule 0.48a because it works, I just only wanted to know more about eMule Plus, I am getting almost one message daily concerning it into my eMule news box.

But this is for eMule PRO Ultra2. :bigups You said there were messages relating to eMule Plus. I want to see any messages you get about eMule Plus.

btw. in eMule Plus we have a spam filter. Preferences> Messaging> Messaging: Filter messages containing.. with a text box below in which you can enter words and phrases to be filtered. I'm sure your client has it too somewhere. Look for it.

We also have a similar filter for file comments.

I rarely even notice I receive any messages.
When I do look I see loads of them, but that’s only when I think to even look.

Yes, Emuler, I was wrong, I didn´t remember which variety of eMule advertised those messages. Can you tell me, what´s the difference between both varieties, or versions?
