When her parents split up, eight-year-old Karo seeks refuge with the Lord God, convinced that a lonely down-and-out she meets is in fact the Almighty. At his side Karo discovers what really counts in life, what really makes you happy.
SYNOPSIS:
It is a terrible blow for 8-year-old Karo when her parents split up. She only sees her beloved father at weekends, now that she and her mother have moved into rented accommodation. And one of the two walkie-talkies her father had just given her must have fallen out of the cardboard boxes during the move, as they were carrying their belongings up the staircase.
Karo feels so miserable that she turns on her remaining walkie-talkie and pours out her heart, in the hope that God Almighty might be listening.
Suddenly an indignant voice replies – a voice that finally concedes: yes, this is God talking. Karo is initially skeptical and demands proof. By sheer coincidence the evidence she wants is forthcoming… and Karo is now convinced.
Soon afterwards Karo meets “God“ face to face and is astonished to discover that he is in fact a shabby old man with an alcohol problem who lives in the same building. He had found the walkie-talkie, and with a few drinks inside him he went along with the girl‘s mistake about his identity. But he quickly regrets this: Karo is determined that “God” should help her bring her parents back together again, and she relentlessly pesters the drunk for help and advice...
