A problem I've encountered with certain video formats is that some of the best applications have trouble splitting them, especially if they're even slightly corrupt. Still, my biggest trouble is getting certain movie maker applications to recognize them, or uploading something formated in bumfuckegypt to a hosting site. Well, so far this program has performed best where others have failed. Its simple and stylish interface out-performs WinAVI, Xililsoft, Ultra Video Converter and a couple others I can't remember. Best of all it is a free app because I am sending you the registration code. lol.

Another converter that I came accross that doesn't seem to be too fussy on formats you spit at it is called "4U Avi Mpeg Converter". It's looks allot more basic that that program you listed, it seems to do all formats imaginable (not swf though)

My personal favourite as I love simple easy to use apps
