English subs were posted to alt.binaries.movies.xvid 233 days ago. So they exist, and may or may not be on Giganews for another few days. Can't find them anywhere else.

I'm on this one! I've d/loaded the subs & am just grabbing the matching movie to verify. I'm being cautious before releasing because the subs filename is nonsense. Thank heavens for 240 days retention!

Excellent! I wasn't sure, they advertise 240 days but sometimes lie, one time I subscribed to get a bunch of stuff getting close to expiration and found it was already gone 30 days before it should have been. The nfo file and subject for this movie sure makes it look like those are good subs, even if it is just "subs.rar". I was hoping I wouldn't have to reactivate my Giganews subscription yet, I am down to a few GB and need to free up a lot before I go on a Usenet binge

Maybe someone who's d/loaded the original release can confirm these subs are in sync or possibly even edit.

There was another subtitle file posted (in srt format) that appeared to have nothing to do with this movie!

Well, my Subtitle Workshop says it is "a bad subtitle or an unsupported format", I mean those adtr-alaturka.sub. Having no experience I don´t know if it is possible to convert it, nor I have experience with .idx format (well, I have some but not a good one).

Subtitle Workshop only deals with text, and a .sub file isn't text, it is the binary bitmaps that the DVD player superimposes over the movie.

I used SubRip to convert them to .srt, and confirmed that they sync up with the byMax rip at the top of the thread (a fraction of a second early but no big deal).

Thanx for explanation and for posting .srt file. In the meantime I was chcecking and the .idx file worked perfectly for me.
