Couldn't agree more. Sounds wonderful...........borrow some more money, give tax breaks & let the wealthy pay for it in future. Unfortunately the wealthy are adept at manipulating their finances to avoid taxation, that's half the reason why they're wealthy! When the day of reckoning comes it will be the ordinary person in the street who has to pay for this fiasco. The only difference in our case is the bill will come from a Tory Chancellor!
And that's my rant over :)

I would love to get a new computer because I am using Gateway which is looks kinda old! I want to get Dell with cd, cdrw, dvd, dvdrw and blu-ray and also Vista! XP is getting old now. I like to get Maxtor which that can hold 1,000,000 photos, thousands of hours of videos and etc....

emuler, what kind of dvd player do you have? any dvd player comes with a remote control built in "zoom" resolution that you can make the screen bigger! Widescreen is crap!

I usually just play it on my PC (my graphics adapter has TV out). I do have zoom capability, but I can't use that without losing the picture on both sides. :( Some media players let you pan and zoom, so the TV screen shows a portion of the movie screen, and you can decide which part of the screen you want it to show, whether you want it to show the left side or the right side, or the middle. :wall

Vista is not without its problems. Mostly the 64 bit OS. Ever try finding 64 bit codecs? Like the 16 to 32 bit transition, 64 bit updated software is way behind in most instances. I've still yet to find a Xvid package that will run in Virtualdub, or updated cvid/Cinepak codec. For hardware drivers, you might as well forget about finding drivers unless they're custom made. Most companies expect you to purchase their new hardware or compatible software. So if you're running XP equipment now and expect to upgrade to Vista, add 25 to 50% more to the overall cost of your computer. Also, add the time you will need to learn new software in the absence of those programs you've come to depend on.

Anyway, in spite of the effort to get many of my old tools up and running, This new HP smokes XP performance-wise with the Core2Duo processor, 64 bit OS. Just be prepare for all the shit to come before you buy. Download drivers, check reviews for compatible OS software. That's a good start.

Now comes the part of installing eMule on my new computer. I was using v0.48 eMule, but I know there are better versions/programs. Any suggestions?

The latest version is 0.49b. Get it here http://www.emule-project.net
Always download from the web site of the program, never from any other wares site as those might have been tampered with.

If you prefer a different client, like eMule Plus or MorphXT, get the latest version of those from their respective web sites.

I don't know if I prefer that. Are they better, or just confuse me?
