Posting movies

Post by Inu »   0 likes

Alright, I am sorry for this topic, but I really do not have the time to go through and read all the other topics, trying to find my answer. I was wondering if some one could direct me to the thread where it explains how to post movies.....And how will I know if it is posted? I have this movie "Billy Elliot" And i was to post it. I search for the name on the search you all have here, found nothing. So if some one could help me out, it would be gratly apprecieated.

Hi
Great film by the way !
You have done correctly so far - do search for film, if not found, then try to get IMDB page for film. This will tell you the country, year and give you a synopsis and/or review.
Locate RELEASE forum for that country and post film like this format :-

[REL] Bily Elliott 1995 (or whatever year)

<IMDB URL>
<IMDB synopsis and/or review>
<any other relevant URLs such as RFF or preview pages>
<emule link>

Hope this is what you neededand welcome to our world !!

Don't be insulted if it's obvious to you, because I have learned what is obvious to me isn't always to others, but billanben left out one step: if this is a new file, one you didn't download from eMule in the first place, you have to share the movie on eMule!

Sharing on eMule (actually, on the ed2k network, there are many different clients out there) is simple: place the file into your "shared" directory. eMule will show "Hashing"... you will probably have to click the "Reload" button on your "Shared Files" screen to get it to realize the file is there. When eMule is done hashing, the file will show up in your "Shared Files". That's where you get the ed2k link to post here. You know the whole process worked for certain when people start downloading from you.

Other tips: unlike many message boards http (and ed2k) links shouldn't be enclosed in any tags when you post here, the board does that automatically. Any screen captures you want to include should be inside tags. Synopses etc. copied from elsewhere should be posted inside [quote][\quote] tags (change the \ to /, I posted it that way so the board wouldn't think it was an actual quote). Good luck!

That helps me out, and I am really looking forward to sharing this movie with everyone. I just have a few more questions... I can get the Review, and link from IMDB, but I am not sure how to get the link from Emule.

edit: Well, I figured it out on my own seconds after this post. Thanks again, and you will be seeing my post here son with the movie.

Please everyone, when a movie has alternate titles, please mention them in the thread too. Usually these can simply be copy/pasted from imdb. This will greatly help us in searching. :thumbsup

ghost: maybe you can put this in your posting FAQ thread.

Sometimes the obvious needs pointing out to us..........good idea emuler & thanks ghost for editing the Posting FAQ.
I can understand why foreign language movies should bear different titles but why should UK & USA releases be named differently........don't we both speak English? (or am I just opening up a rather suspect debate ;) )

Great idea. For all the people too lazy to follow the link to imdb and read, that is. Good to know how a movie's called in Finland. Nice to have pics. And trailers. And Hindi subs. I'd like to get the shoe size of the director posted.
But, thinking it over, it might be too much hustle posting anything at all. :icon_1idiot

Most US releases are cut differently - more heavily censored. I'm glad they are named differently too.

The specific reason posting alternate titles is a good idea is to make a movie findable using FLM search if only the alternate title is known. Or Google search, even.
