:clap I have seen any of Amadeus videos in the past. I never noticed visible newbie editing mistakes. They all were nicely cut, that's my opinion. I'm using Final Cut Pro, so I know something about cutting.

Again, well done Amadeus. :onfire

The real truth is you know nothing about editing clips. Lol.

As simple spectator, you like (and it's enough for enjoying).
But as editing, it's not perfect. Synchronize scenes with the lyrics give nice effects but it's not the "find of the century". And clip is full of newbies editing mistakes.
Well that's a pretty comprehensive kick in the bollocks isn't it. :wall
Amadeus will probably be the first to admit he's not a professional video editor.......if he was he'd likely be earning big bucks rather than sharing his hard work with us, but for an amateur on-topic production I think it's rather good. Fortunately others here are like minded.
On his own admission this has been 18 months in the making & I hate to think how many hours have been spent on it. Frankly, if you can find nothing good & encouraging to say I'd choose silence.

Rant over :)

Yeah, far from professional. [Windows Movie Maker] :) My thinking making TDX was a way to show many favs in one vid. Help out newbies looking for OT movies and quickly identify them. Anyway, the image preview below puts a name in order of appearance to specific scenes on the TDX Imdb list. :thumbsup

I apologize for seeming to insult you, redcat. Honestly that was not my intention. I went ahead and deleted my original post as I now feel that it was out of line.

However you are wrong:

I know a good bit about editing as having experience in both 16mm film and television editing as well as digital editing.

Amadeus made a work of heart and shared it with us. No pretenses that it was a 'professional' piece. He put together a LOT of clips from movies that are popular here at FLM. He did it with skill and a helluva lotta patience. For what it is, he did a great job. Newbie or not.

nice but kicking Kev. i was thinking the same thing at first. but as i read all redcats posts. from my judgment he for one appears to be cranky and also perhaps english is a second language. i certainly could not post in any other language that would be difficult. also it appears he has a much older under powered computer with a small monitor. view the same file under those circumstances may distort the quality. but regardless if no disrespect was meant. it sure came across like well a bit of an ass. giving the time and effort Amadeus spent on this even if it was crap i and most decent folks would have kept our mouths shut and simply said thanks.
but not the case it was a very good video and hope to see more. :dance

perhaps a bit of jealous motive here :naughty

that being said redcat i still like your opinions and comments. but positive is always more welcome than negative :)

You're right, ptguardian. Most probably this has nothing whatever to do with Amadeus at all. Maybe redcat's mom spanked him, or grounded him or something like that and he's taking it out on everyone else. :think :bigups

The condescending tone of redcat's posts gets under my skin more than I suppose they should.

I agree that everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but as others here have stated; criticism doesn't have to be completely negative. And when I read a post where the author makes emphatic statements that seem to indicate that his opinions are absolutely the only correct and valid ones, well... Again, I guess I let it bother me more than I should...

I DID edit my post, and I hope it now reflects my feelings in a more civil fashion. I honestly do not want to throw insults nor denigrate anyone's 'opinion'.

Feel the whole back and forth dig dirt and throw thingy is out of line.

First of all, Amadeus deserve credit for making the vid. If you can't give that, i would suggest that best is to keep quit. If it is any faults done by making this vid, those remarks could be better communicated in a less harsh language than what we see is the example on this thread.
