Re: First Love Templates
I really can't see a problem with how it is at present. All forums have their quirks.....ours is no exception & the specific points mentioned are easily worked around. So the tags & smilies don't always end up where you want them........hardly a big issue requiring nothing more than a quick cut & paste! As for the search facility, well actually I find it perfectly satisfactory as long as you remember the limitations & are prepared to use it THOROUGHLY.
I'd far rather our admin team spent their time sourcing & releasing rather than attempting to fix something that isn't broken!
Cheers!

Ghost, I beg to differ. Phpbb3 will fix most of the bugs, increase forum efficiency and allow for greater functionality. What is difficult is the time you'll need learning a somewhat alien CP compared phpbb2. Myself and willow have set up and run phpbb3.
Inasmuch as the search function... Well, if one enjoys wasting time going through 19 pages where you could be finding actual releases, sobeit. But the search function is most important. That should work efficiently, without its numerous errors. How many times do you think I will put an entire day in searching, formatting, creating a beautiful release only to find some condescending remark about using the search function. lol. Indeed, being a programmer doesn't make one an expert navigator. I love the experience of tracking down hard to find releases, I simply do not enjoy my hard work thrown back in my face.

Re: First Love Templates
When we were a member only forum, we had to use our internal search, no choice, but now that we are an open forum we do have the option of integrating Google search into our forum.
Yesterday I was searching for Takmer.Ruzovy.Pribeh.(1990). I typed in ruzovy and got no results. Then I tried with takmer and immediately got the desired result. The search for ruzovy failed because the actual name was ružový.
I believe Google has rules for this sort of thing.

The problem is, that i edited some of the phpbb2 files. If i should upgrade to phpbb3, it will be a lot of work again i guessAmadeus wrote:Ghost, I beg to differ. Re: First Love Templates
It's worth a shot. Once you see all the wonderful new features, you'll fall in love with First Loves all over again.

I concede that when we point out that a release is a duplicate, we could be a tad more tactful.Amadeus wrote:I simply do not enjoy my hard work thrown back in my face.
