It's not the file size. VLC can play the file, but no other players. I have all the needed codecs installed. I really have no idea atm.

And what FourCC header does VLC give? should be DX50 ..

Which codec pack are you using? Some codecs, like Xvid and ffdshow are capable of playing Divx content and take over that function, but sometimes they fail. See if you can force Divx content to be played with a Divx codec.

I'm pretty sure this will be a codec issue.
