MKV to DVD

:) Would like to introduce a nice freeware. E.M. Free MKV Video2Dvd V2.81

For rare occasions even a mac user has a PC :blush - I ever disliked movies in mkv format. Well, mkv is good quality and
VLC does play this files perfect. But sharing them then with people only having a DVD player or a PS3 - just not possible.

So today I decided to give E.M. Free MKV Video2Dvd V2.81 a try - the result was perfect - it's producing ISO images which
play on a DVD player after burning, with DVD menu and chapters. Possible would be too just to mount the image and rip it
to AVI or MP4.

you mean it converts HD MKVs (720p or 1080p) to a DVD?

I convert them to an AVCHD and watch them still in HD on my BluRay Disk Player ;)

:( it's only for normal mkv files.

...and I think there are still a lot of people around without HD hardware...

MKV is just the container format (AVI is another container). The content is important. In other words: the codec of the video stream. I guess some people have problems with the AVC codec.

thanks this looks interesting. i already have a good converting program i use for the ps3. but it has trouble with subtitles. this might do a few things i can't currently do easily. there are a ton of programs around right now but many take up a lot of resources and take a long time to convert. how is the average conversion time?

:thumbsup
