'Newcastle' is a coming-of-age/family drama/surfing movie. 17-year old Jesse lives in the shadow of his older brother Victor's failure to become surfing's Next
Big Thing. Even when he's in his natural habitat of magnificent surf breaks, his blue-collar future is brought home by the coal barges that constantly line his horizon.
Jesse has the natural skills to surf his way out of this reality and onto the international circuit but can he overcome his equally natural ability to sabotage himself?
A momentous weekend away with his mates that includes first love and tragedy leads him to discover what's really important, and also to the performance of a
lifetime.

It is a good film with a couple of pretty girlfriends who hang out and make out with the boys. Goo quality rip with hard coded Japanese subs.

Seventeen-year-old Jesse and his adolescent pals are hardcore Australian surfers, all wanting to be the best in their sport. Jesse faces a lot of pressure considering his beefy older half-brother, Victor, was once a surfing champ and has a room filled with trophies to prove it. However, Jesse’s younger gay brother, Fergus, is the complete opposite of Victor. With his purple hair, painted nails and scrawny, tan-free body, he seems ill-suited for surfing. His peers constantly tease him for being different.

Things get interesting when Jesse and his mates decide to take a weekend beach trip without their parents’ knowledge. The boys invite two beautiful girls and the unwelcome Fergus tags along, eager to be accepted in the boys’ surf-obsessed world. As the boys take risks exploring their sexuality, intense competition and machismo, the film captures amazing surfing footage—including seemingly-impossible underwater shots.

When the weekend trip ends in disaster, Jesse struggles to evaluate his surfing skills and his moral character.
I don’t want to completely spoil the ending, but I will say that I appreciated the closure to this film.
