Suspect files - one for the resident EM experts !!

so downloaded folowing file from EM :-

Even when almost downloaded, no way to preview in VLC (skipped quickly to end without playing) nor MPC (Cannot render file). Mediainfo showed blank for any CODEC info. Now fully downlaoded and still same situation as above.

If I do a search for this file, there now shows at least four with same sized file + the ominous WMV which they claim is high quality.

Have scanned the file for Spyware and virus/worms, but nothing shows.

Have I somehow got some kind of a "dummy" file ? My intention is to delete it and forget about the release, but is there a way to check what this file REALLY is, as opposed to the avi it is masquerading as ?

You need at least the beginning of the video, if it is an AVI file. Did you?

Get yourself a hex editor and open the file. Comparing to a real movie file you should see the differences in the header.
