VLC Woes - resolved !!!

Post by plonkah »   0 likes

So you may have seen posting stating that I could play virtually NO AVIs through VLC, and those I did, I had to play at slow speed, thus ruining the dialogue. This was using stable release 0.99. I finally uninstalled and cleaned out everything to do with Videolan, the installed v 0.86d, and this now works like a dream !!

I thought I would share this in case anyone else getting crap from later versions (anyway, prefer interface on earlier version !!)

Sorry, i don't understand your problem.
The latest stable release is working perfect for me.

A couple of months ago I also went back to 0.86d. All the .9x versions annoyed me with how they handled startup and repositioning (audio starts but video may take a few seconds). Looking at their support forum I saw others saw the same thing and were unhappy, and the admin there said they had indeed changed something which caused this. The support ticket for it wasn't fixed and they were close to 1.00 so I figure it won't get done and I went backwards to a better (for me) version. I'll have to look at other options.
