I think my DVD Burner is dying :(

I think my DVD Burner is dying...

Can't burn audio (700 mb cd's) and when I try to burn files to a DVD. I get "invalid Track error" or Focus error or
calibration errors. Media is Sony 12x DVDRS. I have burned at 4x (tried higher speeds before that).

My write is Model HL-DT-ST DVD-RAM GSA-H55L Brand: LG

Anyone have similar issues.. Drive really only a year old.

Having exactly the same LG burner, but is working well, No problems so far.
Did you try a different CD or DVD type than Sony?

I couldn't burn one type of media once, always errors, but sadly forgot.

What kind of dvd's or cd's are you using? If it's Memorex that could explain it... my sony drive on my old computer didn't like that brand. That's why I won't use sony brand hardware again.

It turns out I just reformatted and all is well now. Memorex is BANNED from my burner now!.
