New Version CCCP

Post by plonkah »   0 likes

No not an advert for a re- Communisized Russia, but new version of one of the most well-respected CODEC packs. Information about install, constituents etc here :-

http://www.cccp-project.net/wiki/index. ... =Main_Page

What I did was :-

1. remove ALL codecs from add/remove except for XVid and DIVX

2. reboot

3. Install latest CCCP, accept all defaults and ensure reset preferences ticked.

Some MP4s using AC3 (I think) that I could not play before, now play beautifully in the supplied MPC. Note this pack includes new version of Haali Media Splitter, but no longer includes ZOOM Player.

Personally, I am so happy with this latest pack, I have set ALL my movie files to open now in MPC !!

Hope you enjoy this as much as I did.

I use K-Lite here personally. Do I need that one?

Matter of choice really and if K-Lite works for you then would not suggest changing. I am sure you have also read that K-Lite include many unrequired CODECs and out of date ones and for this reason, I changed to CCCP. All I can say is that this works extremely well.
