[REL] Nevesta (1970) [Czechoslovakia]

Movies that don't quite meet the requirements to be on-topic for FLM, maybe because the actors are too old or screen time is too small.

Hmmm, could you tell us something about it? IMDB has no description and RFF has nothing at all. I'm looking forward to getting the clip downloaded because I've really liked alot of the Czech films I've seen, especially from this era.

Edit - From watching the clip, I want to see the rest of the film. :)

Google translate says "Nevesta" means "Brides" in English. Search shows lots of files on eMule with Nevesta in the filename - any idea which (if any) it might be?

You might want to change the title of this thread to [REQ] Nevesta.

Thanks Phuzzy4242; I was in the process of moving and changing this tread to the [REQ] forum when I got distracted... :blush

Anyway, it's done now.

NOTE TO jkecal:

Full releases are put in the [REL] forum. Clips and trailers, YOUtube snippets and the like should be posted here in the [REQ] forum. :thumbsup

I'm in total agreement Phuzzy: I'd love to see more of this film too!! (And many, MANY thanks for the caps!! :onfire )

Thanks for bringing this to our attention, jkecal!!

I suppose jkecal posted just the clip, because the rest of the movie was off-topic...

Do you have more info about this film, BLT? The 1:55 minute clip was "interesting". ;)

No, unfortunately not.

Just thought the rest is off-topic, because what could be the other reason of posting a clip only? Unless jkecal found the clip somewhere on the net and it was meant to be a REQ :think

Informations in Czech here: http://www.fdb.cz/filmy-popis-obsah/14169-nevesta.html

Story of 18 y. girl, who believes in a divination that she must marry at a certain date. Nice movie, made at the beginning of so-called "normalization", wasn´t prohibited, but also has no echo in media. The only movie of famous theatre director, musician and singer J. Suchý, with a touch of surrealism. Imho OT for FLM.

By me, the film is unambiguously defined by reference to IMDB.

The other description (in Czech):
http://www.csfd.cz/film/8770-nevesta/

The film is experimental freak full of the surrealistic and psychodelic scenes. It contains several scratches, one of which is in the presented clip - preceeded e.g. by the scene of crucifying "King of gagmans" Charles Chaplin. With minimal viewer response.

Cf. with scene of crucifying of the "King of Jews" Jesus of Nazareth from Jack London's Star rower rewriten later by Mikhail Bulgakov and also Gingis Aitmatov. But in the film, corresponding scene is transfered to contemporary Prague.

It is naive history of 18-years old girl looking for the future husband. Film director Jiří Suchý - director of Prague theatre Semafor, actor, singer and songwriter - has more practice with theatre, but he had taken part also in several films. His opera "Dobře placená procházka" (Well honored walking), written together with Jiří Šlitr originally for his small theatre, is now presented in huge Prague National Theatre.

The entire film is probably out of the scope of this forum, only the presented clip may be of interest.

I shall present the entire film, but for limited time only (lack of space on the shared media).

No problems there, it's just the [REL] forum just didn't seem the place for a 'clip'. As phuzzy had asked; information like that [movie is pretty much off-topic, but this is a nice scene..] would be helpful in the original post.

Seems like in years past we had a forum for the 'clip & trash' type movies [movies that weren't of direct interest to FLM, but usually had a scene or two that were worth a look-see]... (Or maybe it was just something that was discussed by admin.. :think )

Anyway, thanks jkecal for releasing the full version [and also for the added information! :thumbsup], I'll put it back in the proper [REL] forum.. :)
