12 yo blonde Masha lives in Odessa with her mother, while her father lives in Petropavlovsk on Kamchatka. In attempt to preserve the family. Masha and her mother fly to Kamchatka to visit father. But he soon after their arrival leaves with ship to Komodor Islands and take Masha with him.
On the Bering Island, Masha went away after arrival on the excursion of island with local children. But after her depature, a warning from Kamchatka reached the ship with alarm about incoming thunderstorm. Ship with father leaved the island, but Masha remained there and waited for next ship, perhaps month later. She lives in main port with local peole.
She met Radik, aboriginal Aleutian boy, who operates his own sleddogs team . They became friend and experienced many adventures on the island and in the Radik's home village. Radik made her as present bracelet of glass beads, which had remainded on the Island from times of Bering, and which are very valued.
Finally, Masha returned to Petropavlovsk by airplane, where she sucessfully preserves her family unbroken.
Film undoubtedly cheers lover of genuine dogs, not only home pets.
The film naturally promotes general idea about friendship of "brothely family of soviet nations", but this ideological balast do not influence the film too.
