Based on Nevil Shute's novel Pied Piper.
A very proper Englishman becomes saddled with youngsters that he has to help escape Nazi Germany in this adaptation of the novel by Nevil Shute.
Expect little or no nudity (it is made for UK/USA TV viewing). The book is one of my favourites. Looking forward to seeing what the screen version is like.Peter O'Toole is an elderly Englishman on the European continent when the war breaks out. He finds himself entrusted to return two small English children when he returns to England to their relations. He crosses paths with Mare Winningham, portraying a French resistance fighter. Gradually one by one, and each child of a different nationality, O'Toole acquires other children who saw their parents killed by the Nazis or in one child's case, the attacking Germans left him behind and O'Toole had to rescue him from the shellshocked citizens who sought to take their rage out on him.
I guess it needs to go in UK if IMDB is to be believed.
