[REL] Clancy (2009)
Clancy (2009) a little girl and a war veteran
I did not find the TV film Clancy on FLM. I'm surprised because it it recent and on-topic. I don't know how popular it is in the USA.
here is the official web site:
http://www.clancymovie.com/index.php
The summary:
Clancy Miller (Christina Dawn Fougnie, in her movie debut) is an abused 12 year-old with the faith of an angel who runs away to keep from getting taken away by social workers. Out on the streets, she meets up with Nick (Jefferson Moore, The Perfect Stranger), an ill-tempered, homeless veteran.
A corrupt mayor (J. Robert Bailey, Melrose Place), desperate for re-election, privately offers Nick a reward to keep the missing girl out of sight for a few days; the mayor's secret plan - to 'find her' in grand fashion in an attempt to gain favor with the voters, who would view him as a hero.
A scuffle with a loan shark sends Nick and Clancy on the lam to the nearby countryside. There, an unlikely friendship blossoms, as the downtrodden man slowly begins to see the world through the angelic girl's eyes. In the meantime, the mayor's ambitions heighten with the prospect of a 'manhunt across county lines' and a military style 'rescue mission' that plays out as the TV news cameras roll.
I downloaded it from AvaxHome (http://avaxhome.ws/), I can release it in a few hours if it there is really no other release on FLM.
Here is the AvaxHome URL for those who want to get it faster
http://avaxhome.ws/video/quality/dvd_ri ... _2009.html
If somebody wants to release it before I do, please feel free to do so. I prefer to focus on french movies.

This was low budget and probably marketed to a targeted audience since it is explicitly a Christian faith movie.

How about "completely unheard of?"Borgnefesse wrote:I don't know how popular it is in the USA.

From the "study guide" on the website:
Could be nice little film unless the "message" is laid on too thick. Thanks Borgnefesse and idler!Clancy tells the story of a young, abused runaway girl (Clancy) who changes
the life of a cynical, homeless Gulf War vet. Clancy is contemporary Christian
fiction film that contains a grand story of friendship, but it also give viewers
a simple path toward understanding how God desires to have a relationship
with them. It’s a relationship-driven, action-adventure film. Clancy makes a
great discussion starter for Sunday School classes or small groups—culminat-
ing in a screening of the film. You may want to use this film evangelistically
to reach out to friends, neighbors, and co-workers, inviting them to watch it
with you and talk about their own life journeys
...
Using this Film as an Outreach Event
Films are great reasons to create an outreach event, whether it’s at your church
or in your home. Consider inviting friends, neighbors, and co-workers to your
house for a time of fellowship, and then show “Clancy.” Try not to hide the fact
that it’s a faith-based film. You might be surprised at who might be hungry to
see a film that actually has some substance to it! Keep in mind that people are
going to be wary of being cornered or confronted after the film, afraid of being
put on the spot and asked, So, what did you think? If you’d like, let them know
ahead of time that you’re going to extend a pressure-free invite to stick around
afterwards and have a brief discussion about the film.
Who should you consider inviting to watch this film?
• Committed Believers who ‘get it’
• Seekers who have previously been led to believe that ‘religion’ equals
‘righteousness’ and find out otherwise in this story.
• People who appreciate a plain speak explanation of the Gospel, something
many of them might never have heard from a pulpit.

Re: [REL] Clancy (2009)
Thanks a lot Idler and FLL for your help.
And actually,
But it is true that we got some surprisingly interesting and OT films in France in the last 10 years, like "Les diables", "Demi-Tarif" or "Un poison violent". I don't think we will see very controversial films like "Pretty Baby" (the director was french) any more, but what we see presently is not too bad.
And actually,
French movies are not better, it's just that I am french and I can provide french movies easily.Besides, I think Borgnefesse is right: French movies are just better...

Re: [REL] Clancy (2009)
Although this board is an Anglo-German operation and several stuff is transferred of Rich's older board, there has always been a tendency toward France. Rich's second post after "Léon" was "Amazone", half of the Canadian forum is in French, and some posters like popdrome are living there.BizarreLoveTriangle wrote:Come on, French movies *are* betterBorgnefesse wrote:French movies are not better, it's just that I am french and I can provide french movies easily.
Borgnefesse, you better don't tell us that you can provide French movies easily. You may have noticed that France has by far the biggest "Request" section. We will keep you busy for years!

Re: [REL] Clancy (2009)
I know, I read many request to see if I could post something. I already spotted several films, like Le petit garçon, Les bottes, Mumu and Une vie en retour. For Mima, I can only post the OT scene in the bath.
Moreover, I will post films that are still not requested.
But it takes time to make decent releases, with a summary, a short comment about the OT aspect, and screen caps. And for the TV recorded films, I have to reencode them.
So please be patient. It will actually take month... and years.
